has anyone got british gas homecare, I have a number of them and lately they have been complete w4nkers to deal with, engineers not turning up and/or cancelling with lame excuses, it's like dealing with a bunch of cowboys, the latest is they're up to the old "power flush" scam again:mad:

I've got D+G and have to say they've been pretty good. Although it costs more than the home and contents insurance FFS!

I’ve have the same, recently we had a water leak & we had to use a container for three days catching the water whilst they ordered a part which can be bought from screwfix.

Prior to that we spent two years trying to work out why our heating system was loosing water which meant the expansion tank had to be filled every week by me crawls not into the loft. They kept sending in plumbers who said we have a water leak but no water cold be found anywhere. After the 8th engineer, a older chap listened to everything I said and pointed to the boiler, took off the cover plate & showed me that the heat exchanger had a crack. It then took a week to be replaced as they cancelled the appointment twice and forgot to tell us. No wonder they are loosing so many customers at the moment.

We are drinking bottled water right now because an engineer from our water softener and water filter supplier finally (after about 5 years of me complaining) agreed that having the system discard 50 litres of waste water for every 1 litre of drinking water probably wasn't right, so he replaced the whole system for free, buggered off and now it doesn't work. They now tell me they will send someone round to fix/replace it on 9 December, and in the meantime we should just drink the salty softened water.

so the latest with the BG drama is that although their engineer did a successful gas safe certification on 22nd November and supposedly a service on the boiler, he also noted on their system that a power flush was required at a quoted figure of £699 otherwise the cover would be cancelled and/or restricted to boiler only cover, tenants reported no heating couple of days ago, BG would not attend unless they carried out the power flush first, got my own gas safe engineer round today and traced fault to faulty PC board and all working fine now, BG are robbing sharks and beware of their "power flush" scam that seems to be rearing it's ugly head again, will be submitting my £300 invoice to BG for settlement and if not will see them in court

Ordered 4 electric radiators on line and a hand held remote.
Due to arrive today 1600 hours
They did apart from the remote
Does anyone do their job properly?
While I am on

Halifax bank!
Closed all branches apart from main one in town. Petrol and parking 20 minute wait in queue.
Two tellers on duty with four positions available. Queue out of the door. Automatic cheque processer does not handle US cheques. The meet and greet lady got both barrels. An on line complaint has gone in too.
Complaint acknowledged

As I am in a foul mood Greene King brewery have not replaced one of 2 hand basins in the toilet of my local for 6 weeks now, another on line complaint gone in

Finally M&S
Their clothing male and female is rubbish. Does not wash well is of poor quality and styling questionable another on line complaint. Apparently I just missed a directors visit to the shop which is a shame.
Complaint will be passed up the food chain - honest

Off to the Greene King pub tonight to check on the hand basin!

It’s like a lot of things, the old hands are being shunted out and replaced by people with a laptop and diagnostic kits, which don’t tell them very much from what I can make out, when they list off a whole bunch of things it might be.. Im running a boiler they tried to tell me wouldn’t last the winter.... 4 years ago. This Year I get told parts are no longer available but amazingly I can get them from Worcester.

The home care mob are a terrible bunch of shysters in my view.

Power flush scam, parts no longer available, they will say anything to to get paid more.

Unfortunately, they are under great pressure to 'sell sell sell' they have targets to meet, Know a few people who have quit because of the constant pressure, find a good local independent tradesman who comes with recommendations from people you know.

Absolutely! I didn’t really mind at the time as I just argued the case and they fixed it. But now I have a local chap who does all my boilers.
