Smelly clutch after a 25 minute traverse of the Tyne Bridge - a Harley rider had dropped his bike in the inside lane and although he had pushed onto the walkway, 3 emergency vehicles decide to block the inside lane. Traffic now backed up almost a mile!

We now have warnings about the sun, in the UK, really?

For years people have been heading off abroad, to countries far hotter than it'll get today, but we need to warning people that when the sun is up in the sky and there is little cloud that its a good idea to take shelter. What is the world coming to.

Ahhh but its too much sun. Us Brits only want sun for a weekend, then we can go back to being miserable about the weather.
Wrong type of sun.

On a separate but relative note, the new AO.com advert where they replace the sun. Bell ends!

it's not the world, just Britain, It's been decades since it's been this hot for this long and many people have never been abroad so sensible advice as far as I can see

Most people are moaning wimps regarding the weather in this country nowadays... I remember 1976, it was even hotter, no air con either in those days, you just got on with it!

Please remind me of ‘76?

I was 5 and the only recolition I have is being on my Dads shoulders in Shirley High Street, Southampton watching Saints bring home the FA cup.

Apparently this year it’s not rained since May and looking at what was my lawn I can vouch for that. How much hotter was it in ‘76?

I remember 76! Non stop hot weather without a cloud in the sky. One day a single black cloud came over and it started to rain. All the kids came out of their houses and started dancing for joy in it!!...............Lasted about 5 minutes then back to the sun and heat!

Yes, I remember 76 well, I was 16, was so dry the verges were catching fire from discarded *** ends, we even had a 'minister for drought' if I remember, but what sticks in my mind was when the drought broke, we had flooding of biblical proportions, as the ground was so hard the rain just ran straight off, so be warned, its very likely to happen again.

Not aimed at anyone on here.

However, as you know I did the Ride London 100 on Sunday in awful conditions. I had loads of donations, and a number of friends and family! who said "I wanna see you finish it before I give you any money".
So I finished. And they are no-where to be seen!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

It's not for me, it's for a very worthy charity! www.justgiving.com/markbuckland73

People walking (slowly) four abreast on the pavement - a rolling effin roadblock that forces everyone else into the road. THEN they effin stop to have a larf and wonder why peeps are getting upset when they cant get past. Worse than cyclists

That feels better

Dog Walkers in cycling lanes with 10m of extendable lead out. Yep, very nearly didn't end well for me of the Sh1t thru,
My fault apparently, red mist descended,
Anyway, got loads of new Lycra yesterday, pics to follow!!!
