Looks like Alpinatom didn't have it long.

Edit: Two years- suppose that's reasonable...Note to self, look at the dates of posts!

So far so good...had an engine management light come on when in Sport mode and changing down in overrun - has cleared now though. Could that be a throttle-body/MAF sensor issue? Had similar on another V8 and some throttle body cleaner spray rectified it.
I no expert on these cars but it seems pretty solid on the whole - everything electrical works and bodywork is very clean, and I'm just in love with the engine note....

its still present on the wing mirrors and lower side skirts..I actually quite like the contrast..will live with it a while and decide whether to keep or remove it.

You'll know when the MAF goes. The car starts, the car stops. Remove it, the car works but drinks more. Around £90 from a motor factors. Fit yourself.

Yep considering they are Pininfarina Vents they have no place at all on a Giugiaro car :D
I have it in mind that these vents were an option .. called “Vintage Pack” but I’m sure there’s someone knows more about what that was than I....?
I’ve seen it before on a 4200 here in Suffolk.

Interesting...as they are "proper" vents not just stuck on...so would have been a fair job to do as an aftermarket addition..I like them!

So here ya go- "Vintage Pack" as offered by Maserati on the 4200 in 2004 on...
The vents seem a bit different....this from wikipedia..
", in 2004, a Vintage trim package was introduced. It includes chrome air-exhaust vents in the front fenders, a new polished wheel design, silver-finished brake calipers, and chrome door handles.[14] The front fender vents were intended to evoke those of the 1957 Maserati 3500 GT. "

Yes...seen that since...so I don't have the "Vintage Pack" presumably some one-off modification...still like it anyway..there are two side emblems inside which I need to reattach at some point also..

Welcome to 4200 ownership, new owner here too, yep they are a bit thirsty on fuel but that the sound that engine makes !

Curios as to why your car has an aerial on the rear quarter panel and mine does not, I think my aerial is built in as vertical line down the middle of the windscreen ?

Who knows with these cars lol

They used to have an external aerial on the rear wing, then changed to having an aerial built in to windscreen. I think the change was 2003.
