I seem to recall Bromine being liquid at room temperature, I only remember that one as my Grandad used to tell me that they used to put Bromide into their tea to stop half the platoon getting the clap in WW2.

Indirectly prevent them from getting clap. Libido supression.

Bromine is correct
Mercury is a metal as its ion has a +ive charge like every other metal
Gas has -ive charge
Iodine often thought of as a liquid is in fact a solid crystal
Well that's my story and QM is always correct
