Question of the day

27th September 1997 when Andy Green broke the 700mph barrier in Thrust SSC.

I've been a tail sponsor of the Bloodhound project since 2012...ten pound well spent..

I had 25th September 1997 but not going to argue about a day or two and as you know he went faster again in October 1997 to hold what is the still the current record.

Even though Andy Green is recognised as the first and to date only 700mph record holder, Stan Barrett reportedly hit 739MPH back in 1979 but only in a single direction and in a 3 wheel car so the speed has never been recognised as a record even if true.

Over to you again

OK back to my bonus question from earlier, which is the third busiest but 'busiest true' single runway airport. Clue it's not in India...

Mumbai is number 1, Gatwick number 2, but both have another runway available if required.. I'm after the third busiest.
This airport claims to be the busiest single runway airport as it doesn't have a relief runway available. It has around 22m passengers a year and is not in India.

I think that was Charles Lindbergh... I'm not sure which airport is named after him - somewhere on west coast I think?
