Man City and Real Madrid both are in the low 20s in recent years but did Ajax not win nearly 30 back in the early 70s?

Clarification question please? Are we talking football? Since records began? Didn’t Man City do something like 18 or 19 last season. No idea if that’s a World record?

We are talking football. And Man City hold the Premier League record, but it's way off the world record.

Benfica is a great guess, but I’m wondering if it might be closer to home...

Mark said not English, but what about someone in Bonny Scotland? Have Celtic or Rangers ever been on a long winning streak?

Both outfits have won as many "leagues in a row" as West Ham have managed games. You can draw your own conclusions :(

That's a good shout though JW. Larsson won the Golden Boot whilst at Celtic and they won a bunch of games in the process. Vague memories of them setting a Scottish record but beyond that - not a Scooby.

That's my next guess out, I thought it might be some non-league team who had a great run against poor competition

In my opinion they are a non-league team, but apparently not.

They hold the record across all competitions I believe but not the answer I'm after.

Neither of the Old Firm.

New Year - new question anyone? Which world renowned company's logo is:

…. and for the bonus point why are they so named?

Perhaps best to simplify this and just ask for the bonus point answer.
Why are Wayne Kerr Electronics so named?

Because their test equipment took an age to warm up when you needed them, leaving the engineer to think 'Which Wayne Kerr designed this?'

Interestingly there's a Wayne Kerr who played Rugby League... don't make fun of his name in front of him he's 5' 11" and 16 stone!

Near me there a road called "Neil Fox Way" - he's a former Wakefield Trinity RL player as was his brother Don, famous for missing an easy conversion that would have won the cup for them in the last minute against local rivals Leeds. Fell on his 4rse in the mud, poor fella....

He never got a road named after him...
