What a prime question - and actually relatively straightforward to work out...

For example, if the question was what’s the lowest number that can be divided by 1,2,3,& 4, most people would quickly know to ignore the 1, discount the 2 (because 4=2*2), and do 3*2*2=12.

Similarly, if we made it a bit less straightforward, and said what is the lowest number that can be divided by 3, 5, 6 and 8, then we would work out that 6=3*2, 8=2*2*2, so the answer must be 3*5*2*2*2, and get to 120.

Simples really...

So to answer the question asked, you can see that the only numbers you need are:

5
7
8=2*2*2
9=3*3

and the answer is 5789!

Or (5*7*8*9)=2520....

Yep 2520. Common mistake is to get confused as to why 8 is in but not 6... although easy if you know about prime factors. Top explanation from JonW.
Your turn Jon.

Oops I see to have wandered into a Maths class, not done that since 1978 - there must be another room for the SM members probably behind the bike sheds ;)

OK then - something for the sporty boys and girls....

Please rank the following sports in order of how fast the highest recorded speed of the “ball” was.

Tennis
Football
Golf
Badminton
Cricket
Baseball

Fastest goes first, slowest goes last...

P.s. there are bonus points if you get within 5 of the correct speed!
