That silver 4.7 looks lovely and no mention of subframe issues on the mot history.
For me condition would be the deciding factor more than fast enough with either engine in my opinion.

It’s a 4.2. However does look good am considering

Assuming I'm looking at the correct car:

The bullet points say it's a 4.2 whilst the text says it's the "Ferrari-derived 4.7"
The ad says it has a "fresh MOT to June 2025", but DVLA lists it as expired on 21st November 2024.

Cut 'n paste maybe?

Maybe. Recon it’s worth the asking price 7.5?

That silver one looks ok for the money as long as its been looked after and the condition is decent. problem with QPs is the parts are not cheap, even some used parts are silly money so what starts off as a "cheap" project quickly becomes a money pit. And i would say most of the money you pour into that silver car will never be seen again at resale

Owning an older 4.2 QP is an exercise in unrequited financial return now. They will cost to put right and keep going and be difficult to sell on for any reasonable sum. So be prepared for one h3ll of a ride, even if it is into the sunset!

Wow is that where the market is these days.
Looks like I'm keeping mine
Looks like bottom of market to me, that is probably worth close to that breaking for spares!

Man maths says you could run it for a few years, maybe 5k miles a year, and the most it can lose is everything! Only £200/month if you give it away.

That’s providing no other repairs need doing down the line.. just spoke with the seller MOT expires next week, he is in 2
Minds of selling it. Said he will only get it MOTD if someone buys it otherwise he most likely will keep

Yes, you still have to allow for your £2k/year average running costs, of which you could be lucky or unlucky with more or less than that.
And that’s based on a generally sound car to start. I guess you get a PPI on it though for a baseline. Still probably less than £400/month all in including maintenance and that is still giving it away at the end, so won’t be that much.

On that note can anyone recommend a half decent PPI company/independent around the Merseyside/Liverpool area?

Looking at the paperwork it has its maintenance in recent years at a garage in Llay, near Chester. This is the stomping ground of resident expert dickygrace, of this parish. He may know of someone in the area, although he uses autoshield too I think.

You could ask for Pete who owns Beckers Mechanical (Chester). He does them all over the country for clients looking at exotica. 01244 303050
