Quattroporte Vs Listed For Sale

Given that I struggled for 6 months to get £16k for a 4.7S QP 2009 with just 49k miles on the clock, 18 months ago (and in pristine condition -interior, body and subframe) I am gobsmacked that anyone can think they can get anywhere near £26k. But if they have then hats off to them.

Prices for used cars have gone up in 18 months. Sold my 2008 4.7s 77k miles same day it went up for sale at £17k

How? Mine has 37k and no interest

Not an easy car to sell but hang in there as someone will be along. That first picture in your advert makes the car look great. Maybe find a cracking location somewhere and take some other photos that shows the car off. Lots take them on driveways etc … Take it to a beauty spot or maybe somewhere industrial with no other cars around to bring out the lines of the car and make it stand out from the other adverts as your car is definitely the best one on Autotrader at that price.

Yep. May be a trip out on Sunday if it is nice.

Do you still have the original springs? If you do might be worth including them.
Me? No, in Matts skip maybe. After all they are 13yr old springs. Not worth the cost of refitting and realignment to achieve a less than perfect look or handling. It is spot on now with Ash's alignment.

Just a suggestion as you were saying it wasn’t sold. if I were looking for one it’d put me off that it’s lowered.

It's not simply 'lowered' like a yoof in Halfords but the suspension has been revived and reimagined. Then aligned professionally by an artisanal mechanical genius.

So it’s made from some crappy bit of wood found washed up on a beach, painted a shade of grey called squirrels muff and sold in a farm shop in the Cotswolds?

And that's the rub for someone perusing any modified car. I'm quite sure your car is a lot better, but unfortunately there's a stigma attached and it gives the impression - falsely – that more effort's been put into making it look cool than the servicing. FWIW I think yours looks great.

It's not necessarily the case for all cars. I wouldn't buy a 147/156 GTA that hadn't had the aftermarket Q2 diff fitted, and few other people would. But that's a modification that preserves AND upgrades/personalises the car. A suspension kit is the latter...

It will be an issue for some. They may not read further than the fact it’s been ‘lowered’. Not ideal when there are a limited amount of buyers to begin with! Hopefully someone will see past it in this case and view it as a bonus.

Regarding the 147GTA nayf I need new springs for mine, they are original and past their best, problem is I don’t think you can get standard ones anymore and all the replacements are lowering springs……
Don’t really want to get coilovers, just to try and retain standard height!

It no longer says it. New H&R springs now (well August last year and done a whole 1500 miles or so).

Hi – an aftermarket suspension kit really improves the GTA. I found that the standard suspension made the steering go light over mid-corner bumps – not what you want with a car with the weight distribution of a lump hammer. I went with the Eibach Prostreet-S coilover kit with upgraded ARBs from Autolusso. At the time I had the (silly) idea of going on track days with it; it's not really a car for that. I'm not going to lie, the low-speed ride is harsh, but the standard suspension wasn't much better. However, that mid-corner floatiness has completely gone and there's much greater feedback through the steering wheel now. It might still be too harsh (the Koni FSD cars I've tried have offered a good compromise), but the transformative effects on the handling are immeasurable. It's well worth upgrading to a non-standard setup, but it's not essential (like the Q2). The good thing about the Eibach kit is that it can be adjusted for ride height; not sure about the Koni ones. I've not tried the Ohlins.
You're welcome to try mine but I'm not happy with the tyres; I've Toyo T1-Rs (or whatever the latest is called) and it's squealing under cornering on those after less than 1500 miles and the turn-in is a bit mushy. I think I'm gonna have to hold my nose and take the Michelin route. It had Pirelli P-Zeroes on before, and they made it a bit Audi-like.
