Crickey, it actually won something?

I must admit, I had a tear up with a C63 and well and truly beat it in the Strad. People commented that it must not have been an C63 but a badge kit.

Now I know I was right.

Very impressive. The QP seems sluggish off the start line. I guess weight and a bit of turbo lag.

Not really a like for like test though as they have tested new gen QPVI against old gen CLS63 219. I suspect a 2nd gen 218 word be quicker. A CLS63 S would blitz it even further.

Still impressive though

C218 CLS63 S is a monster I think close to 560hp but I was impressed as well how the QPVI GTS performed against the c219 cls63. Maybe a ecu tuned one would perform even better if it can put the power down.

Ah, C63 is a very different beast to the CLS63 on the video.....That CLS is one heavy car.......C63 will hit 62 sub 4 seconds and power on to 100 just under 10.....Well the latest one does....I would be surprised it a Stradale would show a C63 driven by the same person a clean pair of heals.....But then who cares when the Stradale looks and sounds the way it does......

There is a great top gear episode with the c63 black edition and a 2 seater Stradale. Very close, with I think the amg a slightly faster lap time. AFAIK the black AMG has a hp hike over the regular c63

In the vid the text for the Maser says 'plokhoy start' in Russian, 'bad start' so I suspect the driver muffed it a bit although in an automatic how is that possible?

Looking at that and the fact the black car looks a little pimped up I would say it's got some kind of power upgrade as that was far to fast to get away from s car that is supposedly not as quick as the Mercedes.
Looking at the video I posted more closely it says 600hp and 800nm torque which would mean its had the stage 1 ecu flash tune. I think it’s a great tune to get and I will go for it this year as the performance looks great for the Quattroporte VI GTS.

I was impressed and I am looking at QP6, but.....

It looks like any other jagged, angular car in vogue at the moment.

It's an auto and you can dress it up all you like, it's still an auto, and with all the gadgets attached you just press the pedal....

Like I said I was getting tempted but my old 2006 QP5 DS ticks all my current boxes apart from being a biatch from cold...

The race is not a fair test, an older gen CLS63 against a new gen QP, whose he trying to kid? It would be interesting to see an E63S against the QP.

With the exception of the V8 TT engine all Maseratis are slow in contemporary terms. That's not a problem certainly for cars like the GranTurismo as the blend of what they offer only requires them to be moderately quick. My car can 'only' do 100 mph in something like 11.0-11.5s. Sure the MC cars will be quicker as they have a faster shift and shorter gearing but modern cars like the C63 turbo with the same engine that AM use can do 0-100 in 8 point something. The difference is huge!

Good point! Otherwise we would all be driving 1000bhp Nissan GTRs. 450bhp is plenty in the real world.

Last thing I bought it for was outright speed and power.
I had a Westfield that put out 500bhp and weighed 610kgs. No point chasing numbers after that.

I had a C63 as a courtesy car recently and hated it, To me it felt cheap and plastic, The M5 F10 Competition it replaced would destroy it for pace. Waiting on my GT arriving, around 150BHP less than the M but plenty for me.
