DS all the way for me. I'd prefer a proper clutch, manual choke, 4 dual-choke carbs, manual advance and retard though.

i have to say that in my QP 4.7s there were no overt valves, definitely no electronics connected to the mufflers. For my aural pleasure I went for valved mufflers from a GT and extended the tails and added a manual switch to toggle between asbo and full asbo :alan4:

I think the problem with the QP is especially the DS while it's a proper sports car (well the DS is) it's also a sort of limo, so ideally the sound/volume has to be not mental otherwise it might sound like bean-can Subaru.

Added to this is the double glazing, so any mods will be muted, difficult to balance....

RAZZ....I have thought about doing what you have done. But I though that the outlets for the GT mufflers was down low in the muffler housing, whereas the QP outlets are high up in the muffler housing? I hope I'm making sense....

my two cents
Bought the QP October 2014 on a whim, when my other car had to be taken off the road with supension woes. Always admired the looks and sound, thought it would be a big old barge. When the sport GT popped up black with cream leather I just had to buy it. It was intended to be a "divorce gift" to myself that would soon be sold. My aim was to get the other car back on the road as it is my "keeper".
Both cars have done 5 years as main car including 2500 mile organised European tours. Still running the QP and the other car still parked next to the garage (see profile pic). I do love them both, but cannot run both at the same time.
In short the QP does everything I like, really well. Top drawer luxury car that cruises effortlessly, even in traffic. The DS works as intended, so have no desire for full auto. The sport mode and handling continue to amaze and delight me. That noise !! every tunnel and bridge has me dropping windows and using the whole 7500rpm. Sure I have spent quite a few quid, but not wasted a single pound.

It can be done by extending the outlets however, I tried this route with my S and they would not fit at all. Not sure if Razz has a ds or auto, but the 4.7 gt boxes I got were very different. Another lucky forum member has had them fitted to their gt. Not bitter!

Quite right, It does require a little fettling - and the pipes needed a little reconstructive surgery

I meant more that does Razz mean he got the valved ones from a QP GT? If such a thing exists....

C
No he got gt ones and had the outlets extended. Not sure what part no's he got hold of but I tried 2 different exhaust people to fit the one I had and they were different hangers and the inlet pipes were a different angle. It was very strange. Sent to try us though.

I bracketed open the internal valves in the end so loud all the time. However, if you are light on the gas when needed and cruise they can still be quiet.
