Hi all, does anyone care to "pitch" one to me? Most likely a 4.2 , the other half is quite smitten by them but I only have the 32 "experience" and have no idea what one would be like to live with, especially daily.

i have owned a 3200 and driven many QP's and would never have a 3200 over a QP. They always amaze me. A car that big shouldn't handle so well and then go and do the wafting limo bit. A car of two characters. Do it and when they are so cheap they are so much car for the money.

Ok had mine 3 years this year. Had an Omega before (there are a few similarities honest). Absolutely gorgeous to listen to, look at sit in, be seen in. Don't drive mine every day but it's just a great place to be. Will take 4 and luggage (as proved on last years road trip). If you could get a 4.7 - go for it. For Mondeo money I can't think of anything more special and least like anything else that is around .... but that's just Maser's anyway.

Ian U I have a Sea master ;)
Just by the best you can and get a good inspection done especially front sub frame and all the suspension.
Worked on and driven a few certainly Glorious cars and one of the bargains at the moment.

I reckon I’ve driven fewer than 5 percent of the 8k miles in our QP GTS on my own. They are awesome family cars in that they keep the peace incredibly well. My missus drives it happily, as long as it doesn’t involve parking. I think I need to sneak out on my own every now and then to see how handy the chassis really is. Surely it’s just too big to be too cavalier with it?

We did a Basque country trip in ours. We drove over 2000 miles and I got to drive about 200; South Mimms services to home! Pam loves driving it.

Thanks guys! Wow, there is some Love here :) so I'm looking at 4.2 at the bottom end of the market, do they suffer from rot that much? Subframes? also which box is recommended, full auto that some sellers say are less troublesome? Duo select? Not sure what that even means!
Love the presence...

I probably would but I tend to be madly impulsive

Logical hat:
Get a PPI, especially on the subframes (6k bill IIRC) and the clutch needs checking (3k bill). Check the engine numbers to make sure it's not going to have variator issues (another 3k bill) Boring stuff like discs and pads could make it very expensive.

Hi Loz
My very cherished QP is for sale for quite a while now.
Link here: https://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/index.php?threads/my-04-mas-for-sale.28400/

I am happy to let you have a test drive and even keep it for a couple of days. It's not to force a sale but I believe a car like QP will make you think with your heart within a few hours of driving.

I am in Knaphill in Surrey. My QP has few ideal / ought to have mods which make it a bit different to others. The car is known on this forum for a long time and even it's previous owner is on here.

Please let me know if interested.

I've taken it round Llandow a couple of times and attacked hairpins with sugnificant gusto while on SM organised jollies. Be as cavalier as you like. Yes it is a barge in comparison to a two seat sports car, but really amazing for what it is. Just redline it when you get the chance. It's addictive.

Lozzer, the 2007> full auto cars are quite different to the Duo Select and I recommend that you drive both before deciding. I’ve had both and in my opinion the later cars are a much better bet. Much more like any other luxury sports saloon because the gearbox is so easy. If you like the paddles and sequential stick shift then the later cars still give that experience but my bet is that most owners leave them in auto and just enjoy holding on.

My 07 QP Exec (full Auto) is not advertised anywhere but would happily release it to another forum member
