Firstly, my sensation is that the GT S is a very different car. The 4.2 or 4.7 S feel like 'executive expresses' whereas the GT S feels much more demanding and agressive. Depends what you want.

And then the extra stretch, at the moment, seems to be an extra £20-30k!!! A good GT S seems to be commanding around £35-45k. Plus extra running costs, especially disks. And a bad GT S will be a problem.
Okay for me I am happy with an executive ride :)

So this lost a third of its value in a year and 2.5k miles?

I guess it hasn't got much further to go! Yet here I am still lurking considering one of these against all common sense...

No, I very much doubt if it sold for anything like that asking price.

Gts could be specified with normal leather instead of alcantara (as in mine) but I wish it had the alcantara.

I am following up with the car on ebay. This is what I could find out from chatting to the owner and paying for a quick car check. I am wondering the biggest concern to me looks like the subframe
It failed it MOT on 106028106029

If it's just the cover plate, it's fine. I mean they are basically water soluble. But........

Yes the cardboard 'jacking plates' are a consumable item, and also the cheapest replacement part there is on a Maserati at under £10.

But front subframes themselves are a big ticket item to fix or replace.
