QPV GTS - Horn Replacement

Right, so prior to having my current car inspected pre-purchase I had no idea the QPV comes with two honkers (insert necessary innuendo here).

I've been quoted an hour's Labour to replace - is this a DIY job or something best left to the experts?

From using my honker (insert more innuendo here) it sounds like the 'low' pitch horn has gone.

Good job for honker redundancy...

Any chance of a useful and informative post... anyone?? ;)

Oh dear, oh dear. New around here, are you? ;)

So if you don't know where to start, an hour doesn't seem too grim. I suspect you'll either need to remove the engine covers and go down (oooer) or get it up (ooerr some more) wheel off. Arch liner off and give it a good rummage.

I think I’ve answered my own question... horn is part 27 from the above, and it seems to be behind the grill/air dam.

So it’ll be truly a case of killing several birds with one stone if I’m going to embark upon the grill refurb, badge replacement, and horn replacement in one swoop.

Honk.

Alright, so my honkers have arrived today.. lovely pair.

Don't really want to disconnect the battery unless it's absolutely necessary. Should I isolate the horn fuse instead, or just crack on and leave the battery connected/fuse in place?

You'll probably fine with cracking on. Why are you afraid of disconnecting the battery?

Would love to see a picture of your honkers.....

Agree - just disconnect the battery, get the horn on, and then reconnect

Because the new battery that was fitted a month or two back fixed all my electrical issues, and I'm so (un-necessarily) paranoid about regressing now that all seems stable and fully functional!

And Devonboy, as you asked, a picture of my honkers as requested (not for the faint hearted):
