QPV Front Bumper Badge Replacement (can't be that hard, right)

Bought this from eBay, quite thinking it'd be a straight forward swap... but from what I hear it sounds like the front bumper needs to come off to replace it! Can anyone officially confirm/deny this?

On a QP you can get a wrench from the engine department to the nut to remove the old one, than carefully pry the old emblem of, and just (after cleaning) put the new emblem on without attaching the nut, and it will stick.

Challenge accepted! Hope this storm they’ve predicted for this weekend isn’t as bad as it sounds so I get a chance to do this...

The Elise S1 is the same. Badge bolted on and whole front clam off to get to the bolt.
Local bodyshop said they did it with a belt sander

I'd just drill the old one out and put a thin layer of 3m adhesive tape on, the sort they use to fix number plates to bumpers , trim round with a craft knife

You can't really go wrong as you've got the centering holes

The irony is that the new badges come with adhesive on them, so it really is a doddle.

Exactly what i did in the end after removing front grill i discovered that it was almost impossible to replace the nut so just drilled it off and stuck the new one on.

Is it? I did mine this week, but the GTS is easier than the QP by all accounts.

So when do you move to the doing bit?
I had a go at this today (shock horror) - opened the bonnet, removed enough screws to lift up the plastic engine shroud to give my hand better access. But when reaching through the bonnet compartment towards the front of the car (towards the bonnet badge), I come across a wall of what seems to be styrofoam, blocking my access to the bonnet badge from underneath.

My intention was to do this half-properly and undo the existing bonnet badge nut with a wrench and use adhesive to fix the new badge into place, but now it seems like a grill-out job (which is on the cards anyway as mine seems to have sustained impact damage at some stage)... and the thought of drilling stuff out scares the bejesus out of me.

While on a lunch-time break in a busy Modena bar, Maserati Chief Designer sips his Caffe' Doppio and thinks.....our emblem needs to last the test of time!

Put those claws away!

I'll tackle the badge replacement during my grill refurb... WaveyDavey very kindly sent some guidance on this, a project for when I return from annual leave...

Take the front grill off and get a 7mm or 8mm depending on nut size small socket in there and it will come off.

Yes you have to through the grill to access the nut. It isn't worth the hassle as it is almost impossible to replace the nut. As suggested previously just drill out using the new one to locate where to drill.
