Car picked up today... I'm 'ecstatic' with the results.

As a reminder, before:

After:

Hands down much better than I thought they'd be... I was nervous that the colour would be dark, similar to what I had before... so that's a big thumbs up from me for Grigio Mercury.

Now at the expense of triggering another flame war... I actually really like the Michelins, that isn't to say there was anything 'wrong' with my Pirellis. My Physics teacher would say that this wasn't a fair test... but when I really put my foot down and tried to kick out the back (using a similar level of throttle that I know would induce the same effect with the P Zeros), the backend didn't slide out and felt much more 'planted'. Again, the P Zeros had less tread on than these brand new Michelins, and neither was it damp nor wet outside today... but I felt more confident to push the envelope without fearing it would bite me in the proverbial backside. Again, an unfair test because I still have P Zeros on the front... but based on my experiences so far, the fronts will be changed to Michelins also. Hope that helps others 'on the fence'.
Much better. I got grigio mercury cente caps from Ross as I thought the silver clashed a bit too much. They are dirt cheap. £38 posted I think it was.

Nice... do they feature the Tridents in red?
Mine don't but tbh I didn't ask and didn't think about it.. as mine isn't a gts I wasn't too worried. I only have a gts grille because mine was knackered and I prefer it.

I've got grey centre caps and they have a silver trident I think. I changed my alloy colour to Grigio Mercury as well and it does look better than with the stock silver centre caps. I'll take a pic in a bit.

Thanks for the opinions, gents :)

As much my centre caps don't 100% match with my Grigio Mercury wheels, the red tridents themselves (in my mind) match the red callipers nicely, and also serve as a subtle nod towards the GT S nature of the car... whilst also matching the other red 'accents' that feature on the grille and rear-quarter badges.

Whoever buys my car next can change the wheel caps, of course.

PS. So long as I am in paid employment however, I have zero plans of selling this car! ;)

I do like the Grigio mercury finish and it is about time my wheels got a refurb. Still wondering about going back to the standard silver finish - maybe a good contrast with the (dented) black body.

I now need to OEM silver colour for my 2006 QPV, after deciding against Grigio mercury.

At least Maserati are consistent in rebuffing our attempts to elicit actual colour codes. Below arrived yesterday :D

After taking the necessary verifications we would like to inform you that the colour code for your vehicle VIN: ZAMCD39C000025673 is provided below:

EXTERNAL FINISHES NERO CARBONIO (Cod. PPG226520)

we do not authorize the repainting of the wheel trims as related numerous anomalies may arise.
As a result of this, unfortunately in this instance we are unable to supply the relative colour code.

The question is, when you receive the automated email follow up asking for your feedback of their service... how will you answer? I didn't have the heart to tell them their response was sub-optimal... what is s*** in Italian? lol

Refurb for mine next week. Currently a gunmetal shade, been refurbed before. It looks fine, but I’d like to go back to original, which is lighter, the mythical ‘dark sterling silver’ 226741. No-one knows what it is and didn’t want to guess, so have decided on Grigio Mercury 226679 too. Which is lighter than what I have.

I’ll do the obligatory before/after shots in a week or so!

Weather not the best, but here are the before and after from the refurb I’ve just had done.

Before was an unknown gunmetal shade, which I still really like, but I wanted to go lighter grey and chose Grigio mercury in the end as didn’t want to guess what the original ‘dark chrome’ was off a photograph.
