QP5 - Coolant gauge - Which sensor of the x2 on the car

Can anyone confirm which sensor the Water Temp gauge uses ? There are x2 to my knowledge , one in the thermostat and one in the Rad ?
Im guessing its the thermostat as you would be more interested in that one?

Had a low reading gauge during the recent cold snap which went back to normal after restarting the car.

Can't answer the q but wonder why you think this is the sensor, not the 'stat stuck open?

First thoughts were the thermostat but the gauge reset immediately to mid-way after stopping / starting which makes me think electrical.

Cheaper to start at the sensor methinks.

Still not sure why most of the well known parts suppliers want to charge so much delivery £££ for such small boxes but hey-ho, Maserati tax I guess.
