It’s going to be a scorcher over the next few days and I’d like to invest in an easy to place/remove sunshade for the front windscreen.

Anyone used these and have any recommendations? Thanks!

Mrs C got a £5 one from Aamzon. Works just fine

Thanks Catman! I particularly like that you can put this one on the outside!

Mowlas basically most models will do. Would not bother with an official Maserati one. Oddly this is a pretty basic accessory in Italy but you hardly see them in these isles…

We had an interior one in the QP in the Pyrenees. When I got back to the car one day it flagged up a “warning intruder attempt” alert or something like that. Couldn’t find any evidence, then realised one of the suction cups had failed and the drooping sunscreen had set off the alarm.

Still had a fine lunch though, as we’d parked quite a distance away. Will be trying an external one this year, all being well.

I found the OEM sunshade cheap on-line. It's bloody good but pretty awkward to store - really does protect the leather dash.

I bought this one in the large size which fits snuggly inside the QP5 windscreen. The two circles are a flexible material that bends and folds and, with the large size, insert themselves into the perfectly sized gap between the A-pillar trim and the windscreen itself. Also, the top parts can be folded/overlapped around the rear view mirror to ensure every part of the windscreen is covered. This gives total protection against forward facing sun glare. The whole thing folds away into a small square which is stored in a supplied pouch.

Next challenge is to develop a habit of using this regularly in sunny weather!

30 C in London today. Be kind to your Masers, especially if its parked in the sun!

As well as the new windscreen sunshield, have the rear shade up and put cloths on the side windows facing the sun. Also recently waxed the paintwork.
