Well, the 2009 Bellagio Fastback sold For €117.600 in 2015, so it's not off the scale. But surely the conversion work should have only cost £30-50k

yes but that was done by Touring, a storied coach builder - which matters in these sorts of things. Who in their right mind would pay a premium, let alone £165k, for a diesel Maserati??

I think the above criticism is fair in as much as this car seems to have been built not by an enthusiast for their own personal enjoyment (in which case, good job and what a cool idea even if the ingredients might not be right) but to instantly send to market, advertising and all, for a healthy profit.
