You’re a brave man letting a 3 year old in a Rapide. Youghurty fingers, raisins, the lot. But yes, they fit well at that age. When they reach 10, you’ll be able to come back on brand and get a QP again.

In the meantime though, you’ll have a ball. A Rapide S is a fabulous thing.

A quick update. Sold the QP today to a true enthusiast! I’m really pleased it is going to a good home. I’ll still lurk on this forum in anticipation of buying my next Maserati!

I’m also without a Maserati but with an Aston and I haven’t been blackballed yet. Ridiculed, yes, blackballed, no. :)

Yup, mate of mine lives in Enfield and went to see it. Said it didn't look like a loved example.

OK, so the photos were telling the truth. It just looks shabby on the outside, which always makes me wonder what else has been neglected. The OP's one, in contrast, looks lovely. A bit of me, rapidly quelled, started to wonder if I need it.

Why do you always bring up balls?

Envy. At least mine isn't / aren't black these days. That was some serious bruising.

Really interesting market actually. So I only advertised it on here. Got 4 enquiries in 2 weeks and sold within deadline. Basically at this bargain basement price I think these sell on condition and maintenance which feels right for an older car.

I am the lucky new owner of this car. Picked it up yesterday from rd993, who was a pleasure to deal with throughout. The car is exactly as described and really is a great example.
For me, everything felt right about the car from the start, the colour scheme/spec, maintenance history, condition, enthusiast owner etc.
The price was right too, for both of us I believe, being roughly in the middle of trade and retail.
But more importantly, it’s a car I always wanted one day and after my long drive up to the northern wastelands last night on a variety of roads it didn’t disappoint, it’s a great car.
I’m just pleased, and a bit surprised to be honest, no-one snapped it up before me, cars like this don’t come up for sale too often.

Posting links to other cars with the same name but not the same spec engine wise is just daft

I like your final paragraph. To me, I see no point in posting links to other cars as price comparisons given the spec and model of this vehicle. The member was offering his car as a private sale. We all know that such a sale has no warranty and for that reason, some may buy through a dealer. I'm just amazed at links to other cars that the member is probably aware of on a price perspective.

I have to say I didn’t really mind. I trawled the market when I bought and paid more than others at the time - on spec and condition. It is in excellent condition with barely a mark on it other than the specific items disclosed. That and the fact it had I’ve £5000 spent on it doing all the big things that go wrong meant it was a good deal. Oh and I realised late that I could transfer almost 6 months of warranty to the new owner so that was a bonus. There are a lot of bad cars out there - especially with the dreaded sub-frame rust so it isn’t always that wise to buy the ‘cheap’ cars...

Delay on the Aston which I should pick up on sat finally!!!

The remaining warranty is indeed a nice bonus.
I didn’t know this was available when I enquired about the car initially, it was the just the icing on the cake for me.
The car is so nice though I would have bought it anyway, warranty or not, based on the spec, condition and recent work done.

Good luck with the Aston Saturday, at least this weekend you’ll have an extra day off to play with it!

Aston and Maserati combo...........the best way to go. I still can't quite decide what sounds better. My V12 Vanquish SDP on the overrun or the GranCab with the valves open in a tunnel, roof down . Probably 2 of the best sounding cars of all time.
