Hi all.

I am selling my Quattroporte 4.7 GTS as I have just put a deposit down on a Rapide S.

Given the PX I have been offered by the dealer it is only worth my while selling privately at £24k so I thought I would put details up here on the chance anyone is interested as it has served me well and is very well maintained etc. If anyone is interested please can they PM me. I haven’t got a firm date on picking up the Aston but suspect it will be w/c 22nd April.

Details:
  • It is the car featured in my Avatar
  • Sept 2011 car (61 plate)
  • 48,500 miles but my daily driver so this will creep up
  • Black (Nero Carbonio) with Pearl Beige leather (a light cream)
  • No Alcantara inserts - full leather with black stitching
  • Carbon pack including carbon steering wheel - lots of carbon dotted about
  • Heated electric front seats
  • Power rear seats
  • Sunroof
  • Multispoke GTS alloys in grey
  • Michelin PS4s tyres all round
  • Metal maserati pedals
  • Lots of recent work by AV Engineering including:
    • new rear discs and pads and handbrake
    • Leaking cam seals fixed
    • Front suspension (struts, bushes etc) replaced
    • Replacement air con compressor
  • Good battery - I can leave it for 2 weeks when I go on holiday without charge and it starts - but I typically drive it daily
  • Later engine without inherent variatior issue
  • Genuine front discs and pads done at 38k miles so lots of life left - discs used were upgraded ones used in later GT Sport models - ie grooved as well as drilled
  • Subframe is sound and has been rust treated and protected
  • Had GTechniq treatment in Sept 17 which lasts at least 5 years - has been really great - so much so I have gone for this on the Aston
  • Issues: 3 of the wheels have light scrapes so would need refurb to make perfect, could do with a new front driver mat
Will miss it but I decided I needed to own a V12 at some point in my life.

As I said, please PM if you want to chat more or get more details. I am based in North London.

All the best

I am looking a GT S and having done much research, you are pricing yourself out of the market a bit. I think

Without pictures and a strong history, you'll do well to compete against some traders offering warranties.

I'm going to guess he's set the price in line with the pex he's already been offered?

Indeed. Will try and get some photos up when I can. I’m pretty comfortable doing the px but I believe it is a good one - if anyone is interested, please PM and I will spend some time on the phone with them.

Cheers

Would be interested to see what the dealer offered you as the closest GTS value of webuyanycar is well below 20... not sure how WBAC values italian v8s

Out of curiosity what made you chose the Aston? I will need to buy a 4 door sports saloon next year and I am toying between qp6, rapide, panamera and m5 - get some perspective as to how you got to the rapide might help me
Thanks

I would guess it may have something to do with it being the best looking, sounding, special feeling and opulent of all the ones you mentioned with the added bonus of a wonderful naturally aspirated V12. To be fair some of these things shouldn’t be surprising given it is easily the most expensive when new.

This really is a great forum & I don’t want to upset the apple cart but the etiquette by some users shown on the for sale threads on here shows a lot to be desired..

We know that one has been for sale for a looong time don't we?

I could have bought it for 24k 6 months ago but decided against it. Bought a 2010/60 XJL SuperSport with 69k miles for 16.5k instead.

I would have bought a QP 4.7 GTS but needed it to be max 20k. I didn't think they were worth more at the moment. I'm a tough purchaser though!

That S that Mark linked to is very nice though GTS or not.

I didn't know there was a 'correct form' etiquette on 'for sale' threads. Is it posted somewhere?
