QP 4.2 VS 4.7 BOTH GTS FACELIFT

Hi there a quick question it anyone can help, I'm looking at buying a 2009 onwards Quattroporte , I understand the 4.7 GTS is the one with better Noise, sport button and different suspension setup,(as per top gear and research) my questions is does how does the 4.2 GTS facelift compare in regards to noise and does it have all the GTS spec like the 4.7, obviously I know its down on power slightly, just wanna see how they compare

Then one I am looking at had the blue engine cam covers

The 4.2 version is considerably quieter than the 4.7 and doesn’t have a switchable exhaust. Obviously has less power, also. However, it is prettier, having the original shape. Both are great cars, but if power and noise is what you are after, you’ll need the 4.7 version.

If you take the shape aside as some prefer the original the 4.7 GTS is the best QP you can buy for me....They are awesome.

I’ve just read the OP in better detail. There is no such thing as a facelift 4.2 GTS. The choice is a 4.2 GTS from 2007-2009 with the original body, or a 4.7 GTS from 2009 onwards with the facelift. There’s no doubt the later car is better, but if I had one, I’d want to back-date the look (as is the trend with 911’s). In fact, why didn’t I think of that earlier...?!

It’s only the bumpers on the later cars that I don’t like. Can these be easily swapped I wonder?
