Nice car. Blue looks ok in it and at that price point its more than liveable with.

If not, £400 and a leather person can recolour it all to a colour of your choice. Tobacco or red would look nice with the grey.

What would the engine be worth alone? These must be getting close to being worth more as spares. Not that I would ever want to see that happen! Even if you got 2 years out of it relatively trouble free and then gave it away it would be less than most suffer in depreciation.........

Looks a very nice QP for that money. And plenty of miles left in it. Could be a real bargain if an inspection confirmed. And the grey/blue/grey interior trim combination works well IMO

It's only 15 miles from me so might be able to have a look.

I don't normally do the blue, but that seems to work.

Can't believe how cheap these will need a new daily in a few months, but seen the 4.7 can be had for just under 20k so think will have to drive a couple. Is the 4.7 noticeably quicker?

the "market value" insurance on a low mile 05 is around £8K. You'd buy that car for that, if not lower. People are scared of the maintenance costs on these, which I can understand if you pay for someone else to do it (I do my own, and I bought my car from an owner who also did his own maintenance).

My car is the same exterior colour, but tan interior, which I think would sell easier than the blue interior- also the featured car has no wood trim, just the plastic, and no upgraded wheels, so its pretty base spec apart from the sunroof.

Don't get me wrong; essentially mechanically these are 4 door Ferraris.. these are the bargain of Italian supercars... I'm considering getting a 2nd one....

do you really think an extra 500cc is worth more than double the money? I defy anyone to notice the 10% more HP in real world driving.. especially if the 4.7 is an "Automatica".... the difference between 400 and 440 HP is negligible in a 2 ton car..

Power to weight ration for the 4.2 is 204 bhp where as the 4.7 is 217 bhp......Performance though on paper is not much different..... 4.2 0-60 5.1 sec, 171 top speed / 4.7 0-60 5.1 sec, 175 top speed. So not much in it really....but it's only half the story I suppose.

I think the colour combo works very well. Clearly, the owner has bothered to photograph and describe it well, which is good to see. I've owned my 4.2 GT for 5 years and with 26k on the clock, I think it is worth £30k max. It is crazy how Maseratis fall in value, but this has always been the way with the brand. Even the super rare 60s and 70s cars that are perfectly restored only fetch a third of the equivalent Ferrari at auction.

I think I most DS QPVs will disappear in the next five years. They are now down to a value where people will buy them and try and spend a pittance on maintenance, the spiral will continue and they will be gone. Real shame but a well trodden path.

If he's had a new car on order for the length of time it's been advertised it must be a Morgan

I'd be very surprised if he got offered much more than 6k for it in a PX , I enquired about a GTS QP that was 200 miles away but wasn't going to drive the 4200 all the way down there without a firm offer , GTS was 25k at an Audi dealer , they offered me 6k for it , that was just after the respray when it was running OK and I'm 100% sure there would have been some WBAC type reductions
