This is my car's current configuration. I bought it like this; I haven't changed anything.

Have the E message briefly at ignition on to indicate an AC fault, did the reset and fault code readout.
Anyone had experience of sorting these two?
AA114 - not in the list I found on here -???
A5 - TA fan rotation fault - assume AC fan motor issue but it seems to work fine?

Evening all,

Finally got round to fixing this AC error issue.
The fault code A5 114

According to the error code list A5 is TA fan rotation, (114 not listed) that’s the interior temp sensor little fan not rotating.

I had a poor earth supply to the sensor. 12v to the connector when the sensor was unplugged but dropping to 1.5v when the temp sensor was plugged in.

I have now run an additional earth to the sensor wiring harness and now the fan spins correctly with no more error codes.

Not sure what the 114 part of the A5 114 error code relates to but that is gone as well.

Hope this helps someone as it took me a while to get my head around.

I suppose in some cases the fault code could also be just a build up of dust or lint blocking the fan?

I also assumed power is from the hvac panel (please correct me if you know better?!) so guess a poor joint / connection on that control card hence decided not to mess with that as everything is quite fragile.

El código de avería A5 114

Según la lista de códigos de error, A5 es la rotación del ventilador TA (114 no aparece en la lista), lo que significa que el pequeño ventilador del sensor de temperatura interior no gira.

Tenía una mala alimentación de tierra al sensor. 12 V al conector cuando el sensor estaba desconectado, pero caía a 1,5 V cuando se enchufaba el sensor de temperatura.

Ahora he conectado una tierra adicional al arnés de cableado del sensor y ahora el ventilador gira correctamente sin más códigos de error.

No estoy seguro de a qué se relaciona la parte 114 del código de error A5 114, pero también desapareció.

Espero que esto ayude a alguien, ya que a mí me llevó un tiempo entenderlo.

Supongo que también podría ser simplemente una acumulación de polvo o pelusa que bloquea el ventilador.

También asumí que la energía proviene del panel HVAC (¡corrígeme si lo sabes mejor!) así que supongo que hay una mala unión/conexión en esa tarjeta de control, por lo tanto decidí no meterme con eso ya que todo es bastante frágil.

Got annoyed with no clock back light, now repaired, a bit fiddly but cheap enough.
Colour match probably not exact but better than nothing

I have used the 4200 a bit over the winter, it’s nice not to worry about salty / dirty roads.

Typically the weather gets better as I go away for work for 10 weeks :)

Anyway the front subframe that came off the car (brand new one fitted) was blasted and I hoped for one insert then get it powder coated to keep as a good spare.

But see pics below, quite shocking how bad it really is.
I’ll have a chat with a few fabricators/welders and see if it’s worth repairing

Quite scary really as before blasting there looked to be only one corroded through area.

Suppose after 23yrs of year round use it is to be expected.

Out of interest my Audi A6 had a subframe repair due to corrosion at 11 years old so it’s not just the Maseratis, but a brand new after market subframe for that can be had for only £200-300.

That's quite a bit of damage but I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's steel so it can easily be welded back together and reinforced.
Just make sure it isn't too bad inside.

On the positive side, it's lighter!

just got to find someone who wants to repair it properly.
With my ‘skill’ the holes would get bigger!
Perhaps it’s now a Corsa subframe!
 
Donington evening track day, finally making it happen after nearly 4 years of owning the 4200.
Unfortunately about 1/2 way through the off side primary cat broke up so that was the end of the evening for that car. Just as I was starting to really get into it,

Not total loss as a passenger then on renault clio (megan engined) and lotus exige.

the headers look clear of any cat particles so fingers crossed. i'll do a compression test, if all good then run it with the primary cats removed on both banks.
Then try another track day :cool:
