Problem starting 3200

I got some issues starting 3200. Not had a problem before but left in garage for a few weeks and I’m guessing a flat battery. However it jump started first time and the volt meter on dash is good. Leave the car for an hour or so then won’t start - flat battery or at least that is what I think it is. Charged battery over night and still problems starting. Again ok to jump start and all operating ok.. Any ideas much appreciated.. is it a new battery required?

about three months ago. Expensive but so worth it. Apparently you can do this, you cannot go the other way.

Not too crucial here, but some cars will handle it and some won't. If the car keeps trying to stop/start with the non stop/start battery, it'll kill it quickly. If it disables the stop/start function, it may well be ok. I definitely wouldn't recommend fitting a normal battery to a stop/start car, however as you could see some other unintended consequences!

Similarly I had a BMW that needed the battery to be coded, apparently. When I changed the original battery (at 15 years old!) I didn't code the replacement (which I took out of a Jaguar that a friend was scrapping :D) and it worked fine until that also-ancient battery died of old age. Neither the BMW nor the Jaguar was a stop/start model, admittedly.

Good battery choice - I have the same, delivered to door and self fitted for less than £100

I had problems on start up. Plenty of voltage but once the key turned..click and nothing. Thought it was the battery but on investigation of the battery the positive terminal lead clamp was loose. Turned out the lead clamp was broken/split and shorted on initial key turn. Lead clamp bought on eBay and absolutely no problems since. Could yours be something that simple?

I did check the terminals and the negative was loose, I thought I’d cracked but to no avail. New battery worked for me..

<thread drift alert> Battery charged so can turn over engine. Now need to execute emergency start using code key. Before doing that I wanted to do several reset options
  1. Lock and unlock using key button.
  2. Throttle pot reset
  3. Battery master reset

Unable to do item one ands suspect keys in battery died. What is the official battery type?
