I think if you read the small print of your warranty, the dodgy ones have a cap of something silly like £30 per hour, I cant get it valeted for that.

Its not a formal warranty as dealerships are required to at least provide 3 months self insured warranty. I deal with MILS solicitors who are motor industry specialists and they state that it is reasonable for a customer to expect up to 6 months post purchase cover. You cannot caveat by using ana22wd an upper limit on cost under the sale of goods act but you can under a formal warranty. I'll let you know how I get on.

At least Millbrook is only 4 doors down from the garage that the dealership has sent the car to.

Iam no expert but surely this would be down to who fitted the new clutch. If the clutch has only worn 10% it must have been fitted pretty recently. Was it by a main dealer and was it done recently?????

If the clutch was fitted by maserati and the warenty was not too far out then maserati need the car ASAP to log a fault with maserati UK.
If this is done fast enough you may well get a goodwill repair FOC.
But the fault has to be logged by a main dealer not some local garage.
the car would also need to be totally standard in every way.

Problems was a failed pressure plate. New clutch and bearing being fitted and cost being picked up by the supplying dealer which is a reasonable result!

Ouch! Sorry it turned out to be a serious failure, but great to hear the dealer is picking up the tab.

Ditto Miles' sentiment......good to hear you'll get back on the road with no damage to your bank balance.

Glad to be of assistance and pleased it did not cost you which is the main thing.

I bet the previous owner was an 'auto mode' driver, mine was and that's what I put the premature failure down to. It actually went again for the previous owner too - Auto mode = bad!

Was going to put a new post on regarding my journey to work this morning, however needn't bother as this thread says it all.

GS felt sluggish between changes and slipping pulling away, however once I got to work couldn't engage reverse in the car park. Coming out of neutral into 1st, it jumps around a bit, with a couple of seconds in 2nd before finally getting 1st.

Will be calls to the garage today and a nervy drive home this evening.

Yep, sounds like your tangs have collapsed. You can't really knacker it anymore as its already done, but just bare in mind that the jumping will put stress on the prop and gearbox.

Nice Ball Polished wheels by the way.

Just been reading this thread as not sure if my clutch needs seeing too (hope not). As the only problem I get is the reverse switch does not seem to engage no clunking around or jolting and gears work just fine plenty of pull no slipping. Just to add when I bought my car it had 47% clutch wear and I've done 4 k on that.

Steve it always worth taking your time getting it into R as the toggle and brake switch are easy to do out of sinc...and end up with it still in 1st
