Some that I've seen over recent months. I do like the HE11 YEA! Not sure about TOP 611N though.DSC_0154.JPGIMG_0460.jpgIMG_0580.JPG

Ok, options please.

Want to take plate off my car before any sale. I can do it online automated between 9-5. I can then put the original plates onto the car. If I want to sell then car then I need the new V5C reference number to then change ownership online.... Is there a way around this as I don't want to jeopardize a sale.

I just had this, the postman had a lot of envelopes to deliver and I couldn't figure out a way around it. The only way is to transfer the plate ahead of time, just so you know, I got my new V5 in 3 days in the post. So you have a choice of selling with the plate on trust or waiting for the new V5.

Just sort the V5 out with the new buyer on Wednesday when it arrives.

My son has just had this with the same of his golf.
Purchaser was not worried at all, checked the VIN against the car and the service book that tied everything together and added VIN and both reg numbers to to the receipt.
When the new V5 came though we just copied over the same details and posted it off to DVLA

its pretty swift these days, immediate retention and replacement reg as you now know and normally the new V5c arrives in 4/5 days. Remember the days when you had to go to the nearest DVLA office with all the paperwork and long old queues :banghead2: and then wait weeks for the new V5c

The only real problem with that is that technically until DVLA receive the signed V5c back from you with change of ownership you are still in their eyes the owner and responsible for the car, speeding tickets etc etc

What sort of value is a V8 *** plate worth?
I've seen a car for sale with such a plate, not V8 powered, couple of grand, and selling the plate makes buying the car potentially more attractive!

He wants to take tuesday

if not willing to wait until you have V5c, best thing to do is just draft up a basic agreement/letter that states time and date the new owner has collected the car with his/her details and simply stating that they are now the legal owner/keeper and fully responsible for the car including any speeding and parking tickets etc. Get it signed and you should be covered
