Hi All,

Just raising my hand, looking for a Maserati Gran Turismo and have been recommended over this way from Pistonheads.

Looking for an MC Shift, preferably a facelift car, preferably not in black with its variators and suspension bushes done, decent service history etc.

Not much else to say at this point, looking forward to being involved and I'll be looking through all the threads to gain knowledge

Thanks
Matt

Welcome to the forum Matt. Richard Grace @dickygrace has a car coming in which might fit your needs colour wise. I suspect a facelift with MC Shift will be tricky to find as most, but not all, are autos. On the plus side, a facelift will not be affected by the variator issue.

Good luck with your search.

Welcome, Matt. You have fine taste. Where in the country are you? As Zep mentioned, talk to Dicky. Also try Nareman Virk at Nuvola in W London.

Why an MC Shift out of curiosity? MC autoshift is regarded by many as the way to go.

Welcome and good luck with your search btw

I test drove an MC Shift car in Carlisle and it was a great driving experience, I really liked the blip on the downshift and stuff. I assumed the auto was just the normal 'slushbox' auto, I presume that is not the case?
Is MC Autoshift the same an an 'Auto' in Granturismo context?

No - not at all similar. Have a search on here and it is all explained .... I think the thread title is self explanatory (something along the lines of differences in gearboxes).

FYI ... facelift MC Auto boxes also blip on downshift ;)

Will search out the thread thanks, MC auto shift maybe what I'm actually looking for then rather than MC shift as such.

Reading through the gearbox thread, I think its a facelift Auto car I'm actually looking for, but I wouldn't turn down a MC-Shift car, that's the first hurdle figured out, thanks all.
My usage pattern is that I now work from home so do little mileage, occasional car would fit the description well.
I also have a Mondeo hatchback. Not sure if I would keep that also for the very little mileage I do now, or whether the Maserati would totally replace it.
I know this is a sacrilegious question, but is there a means of carrying a bicycle on it? Tail gate rack or similar? Its the only thing I think my Mondeo does well that the Maserati would struggle with.
Do any of the models have radar cruise control?

This car is beautiful, but out of my budget

Thanks again
Matt

No radar CC on these cars, they are too old tech wise.

Why do you need to take your bike for a drive?

You can get those ‘Seasucker’ ones but you’d be a brave man to fit one. Or a universal rear mounted one but I’d be too scared of damaging the paint.

The Seasucker is your best option IMO ... as Mr Grace says, a standard rack can be used but I wouldn't want to risk paint damage.

And sell the Mondeo ;)
