I was at stationed at RAF Fairford when Concorde was undergoing flight trials there, and Brian Trubshaw's office was opposite our hangar. We used to provide out of hours handling crew, so although I never flew in Concorde I did at least have an association with it.

There's no flying Vulcans left at all now. Some years back , I was working just north of Northampton and one used to test flight around there , apparently it would test fly before a show , and I think the house owner said it one of only two left flightworthy in the country
David Niven's mate during the war was called Trubshawe. So in his films in his honour he'd try and get one of the lesser characters to be named Trubshaw. One was his co-pilot in A Matter of Life and Death I think and in one other Niven film he mentions an Elsie Trubshawe.I was at stationed at RAF Fairford when Concorde was undergoing flight trials there, and Brian Trubshaw's office was opposite our hangar.
