Now now, He's a nice guy!

Dave

Absolutely Dave..Met him again at Last years British GP and we had a good old chat about this picture and his time in the QP. Thought he would just say hello and a picture but he walked the length of the paddock with my just chewing the cud. Top chap.

I bought it for VE Day to remind people it wasn't just Britain who won the war. Did the Sovs get involved in Malaya? My Uncle Ronnie was in that area in the war, Japanese snipers sent him over the edge, saw hardly him, he never spoke to us. Just stayed in his room until he died a few years back aged 90. Terrible.

My pops was in Malaya 1944 and 45 and 46 on british aircraft carriers as flight maintenance, went through the whole kamakazi bit on deck , would never ever talk about it , my uncle on the other hand , was dessert rat , came back up though Anzio , back to blighty for randr and got collared into dday landing on omaha beach , and loved every minute of it , and would never stop talking about it .............big fella but typical Uncle Albert

It’s certainly not set up for racing, but it’s a complete blast off the lights smoking in 1,2,3 if I choose to- but to be fair they can be set up to handle surprisingly well - historic racing is the proof.
But personally I like to have my fun drifting the on roundabout !
She doesn't tickle my fancy but I always liked this picture...

She was a horsey girl with a good sense of balance and special awareness..
I remember her on the ARDS test trying for her Competion licence.

My Dad was part of 259 Field Company, Royal Engineers who were part of the 4th Infantry Divn at the Battle of Montecasino Feb -Nov 1944. Then he went off to Greece and then Jersey. Got given a box of x50 new Lugers still in their oiled packing paper from a Nazi officer. Kept them for years until one day he dumped them in the sea. Would have been worth a few quid today.
