It depends on what your personal taste is for, most people would probably answer with Mk1s with their early period charm, brocade interiors etc, but Mk2s are a good bet when you find a good one, they're also rarer as they were only made for two years, '67 to '69 (although the last few Mk2 Cooper Ss were built in February '70). Don't dismiss the Mk3s - they are becoming sought after now because of the bonkers prices attached to the earlier cars, but some have been reshelled using later shells. A good Mk3 Cooper S is a very usable car though. I'm a little biased as I've have several Mk2s but I still fancy another Mk1 some day.

Before I bought the white Mk2 above I put a wanted ad on the Mk1 performance Mini forum and within a couple of days had offers of seven good cars, Mk1s and Mk2s, none of which have been advertised before that I'm aware of, they're still out there ;)

Good info thanks

Matrix sign on M5 heading north around Droitwich would have been a good pic - it read "A46 closed because of flooding"!

Another burst water main - thats why we have so much water shortage here... 100 year old infrastructure.

Updates after A46 near Leamington was closed in both directions due to flooding - CoventryLive (coventrytelegraph.net)

I was watching the first part of a new Stones documentary last night and caught a brief glimpse of Keith Richards' fabulous Beltley S3 Continental Flying Spur, aka 'the blue Lena' pictured wafting Mick and Keith to Chichester court during their famous drugs bust trial in the Summer of '67...

Just browsing for a new battery maintainer / charger on amazon and spot an AA branded amazon choice offering. "As used by AA patrols" bold claim and hard to believe they use a mains smart charger at the side of the road.

Now spot what is wrong in the picture:

I love spot the difference.
  • have they spelt AA wrongly?
  • is the battery upside down?
  • how've they manage to get a colour label in a black & white photo?

At the risk of stating the obvious, the positive terminal should have the shroud on it, not the negative.
