A 'Jet Provost'...first went into service as a trainer with the RAF in mid 1950's. 734 of them built. Retired from RAF in 1993.

Indeed; We had some great summer camps there and as a teenager it was awesome inspiring to see them in action. Sat it the cockpit whist they were being moved around was like being Tom Cruise.

Probably a housing estate now.

Nice, watch out for the Sandbank.

My old man lived in Cowes for years, I’ve found memories of the Needles, cricket on the sandbank and like!

sounds great. Personally only completed day skipper so had careful eye over my shoulder throughout. Booking to get out in spring and maybe head over to Cowes from Hamble.

My old man had a Wolsey Six variant. Huge amount of space in them. I remember a HillmanAvenger running into the back of it. The Wolsey needed a rear bumper the Hillman was a write off.
