A 1980's car park scene.
View attachment 78354

What was the reason for taking this pic back in the 80’s, just a random car park with lots of normal cars in?
Anyway, what is different though is the amount of ‘coloured’ cars (am I allowed to say that?). These days they would mainly be whites, greys and blacks (whoops, slipped up again).

Plus, only one German car, that would be totally different now. No Italian cars though, that’s the same!

Indeed. Drove the entire coast along the D514 from Pegasus Bridge to Pointe du Hoc...Seeing the US, British, and French flags flying on nearly every building gives a sense of co-operation and joint endeavour that is not easy to find today.

Even though only 177, yes 177, french soldiers took part in D Day they always try to take equal billing. Also, it’s not always appreciated that more Brits took part than Americans.

Someone stuck the trolley jack in the wrong place I reckon.
A mate of mine did that in the 70s on a Ford escort , got a puncture in the dark on the way back from entertaining a lady

Got the jack out with a lighter as illumination, there was a crunch and the jack was through the sill into the bottom of the door

Sadly seen damage done numerous times and for me my chosen point on a vehicle would always be a chassis or a suspension mounting point to chassis.
Sills are always weak.
At least on a two post ramp the weight of the car lifted on 4 points.
