I certainly remember those but they are nowhere near as shin ripping as the current BMX pedals, my son often come home with blood running down his shins

I've still got the 'beartrap' pedals that I fitted to my BMX in the early 80s - they may even be on my sons MTB now?

Many times did I get 'pizza shins' from them while racing

BMX riders get bruises, cuts and grazes like no other my daughter (11) comes back from the BMX / Skate park with all manor of damage - she just shows them off shrugs and gets on with it

Back in my day as a teenager mid 70'S before using a bike for fun it was morning paper round cycle to and from school and then my evening paper round.
Probably why I'm not so keen on pedalling today really.
