Unfortunately, that fondness has now quickly disappeared with the opposite poles of the UK today.. and I for one don’t like it.
Luckily, I can just ‘P1SS 0FF’ like a few people have actually told me, for being foreign. I think they probably ‘forget’ the amount of tax dollars I’ve contributed over the past 40 years to this country.

As far as I’m concerned world is a small place and no one is a “foreigner” if you choose to live somewhere that’s your choice and no one else’s

Absolutely, but when your neighbours on either side says: oh but your not foreign, you speak good English!

Yeah, part of the problem, much as I'd like to agree, is that the definition of 'other' is ingrained by literally millions of years of evolution. So less about being 'foreign' as in 'comes from somewhere else' and more about 'not our kind of people' (deliberate choice of phrase)

The nicest, kindest, intelligent people can still react like that because, well, we ignore the programming of our ancestors at our peril

But they’re utter cockwombles I can drive an hour from where I live and not speak the language. Bet none of those ******* realise that the English Tommy is actually Welsh

I’ll take that as a massive compliment Catman.. you just made my day, bless you.
For years and years I tried to become English, I sort of had to in order to become an auctioneer for Christie’s, a pretty stand up old school establishment. I was only 19 when I was employed, but I really did try my best to ‘fit in’
Fast forward to today, and I realise, we can - and should be different. Who cares about an accent or a different perspective of live… aren’t we all just human and as such, should just get along? On this forum we just love ice cars, and we all enjoy that.. members here or abroad. What is so different in real life? I’ll stand down now, too much Chardonnay!

Thats the thing they forget. I’m sitting here drinking Belgian beer, looking at a garage with two American cars in it and a drive with a German car, a French car and a Polish trailer on it. I’m probably wearing clothes made in Turkey or Tunisia. The Ms is drinking cider from down the road in Hereford. So I can wave my Chinese made flag bought from Temu a little.

Never been a fan of the Fiat and I don't think its aged well. The GTV on the other hand looks so much more the complete package but its better with the lighter TS engine up front. Not as quick in a straight line but much better balanced in the twisty bits.
