Personally, whether it will be a commercial success or not, I think It's a mistake.

I was at the factory last week and was told Maserati want to produce 7k vehicles a year. When i asked if that included the Kubang, the response was "no, that will be built in America. Not sure how many of those we'll make."

While this may be more a reflection of that one individuals personal thoughts, I didn't sense that it was a popular decision within the company.

Think we all agree with you MAF...Not a popular decision for the Maserati faithful....Is it aimed at those people....Maybe not........

Kubang. Do you Lovett?

Its a Maserati so i would not turn it down if I was given it. However if my wallet had to come out it would be the last one I would consider over all the others in the range. I have not read the eco stats on it but I hope its not another X6 which is very un PC in todays financial turmoil. When I see an X6 I think to myself, Does the driver realise how much everyone hates him and his OTT car !

I cant see the Kubang selling in this country for the following reasons......

Looks
Not offered as a diesel and 95% of the Merc ML's and BMW X5's, X6's etc.... are a diesel. I have also noticed you dont see as many new Porsche Cayennes as before and also if you do, it will be either a V6 petrol, diesel or Hybrid, i bet know one is buying the Turbo or S Cayenne.
