Before you all tell me my matrix has gone bad, it is fresh water...!
Its only just started doing this it seems...
A couple weeks back I couldnt avoid driving some 160 miles in the deluge of water that was the Tuesday downpour moving north up the UK.
I noticed the dampness and looked in the footwell...a bl00dy pond of filthy water...The conditions were horrendous, so I have dried it out with a mixture of towels/heater/silica etc...I have been telling myself that the conditions were freak and it wont happen again...!!
Just washed the car and its wet in the footwell...!
Whats favourite for the culprit, anybody..Blocked drainage channels somewhere perhaps ?
I'm hopeful its from a scuttle channel (?) or summat..I mean. I dont use water under pressure when I wash the car...& nothing from below either.....:conf2:

Grtzzz...!

Blocked AC drain. It’s an an easy fix and a few guides around.

Or blocked scuttle drains, so wipers off and remove the cowl for a proper clean out.

Oh - and your heater matrix has failed ;)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but lately I've been hearing sploshing water coming from the passenger side in my 2010 GranTurismo S, and the footwell is as damp as an otters pocket.

I thought I'd do the air con drain clean Conaero posted, but in the meantime see if the scuttle panel had become blocked. Which brings me on to my first question: how in gods name do you remove the panel underneath the wipers to access all of the grisly stuff? Everyone glossed over this detail so I thought it'd be simple, but clearly not...

Also I removed the pollen filter from the glovebox and it's bone dry, does that point to the blocked AC drain?

And finally the four screws in the passenger footwell - they just seem to turn and not get loose, is there a trick to it? Why are all the fastenings and screws in this car utter s**t?!

I realise all this makes me sound like a simpleton, but I've changed turbos, injectors, plugs on my Audi S7 so this should be a doddle.

I'd have thought so.

They aren't 90degree turn and pull are they? Might have been stripped :(

Balls. Putting the securing plastic cover back on the pollen filter casing was a complete pain in the **** as well, so there's an hour I'm not getting back lol

Hmmm. They looked completely untouched from the day they left the factory, so hard to see how they would have been stripped, but always a possibility when all the screws in this car are made from recycled newspaper and cheese. Cheers for the tips though Catman

Just trying to recall getting the scuttle clean. you've got the wipers off? I'm sure it's self evident.

We're talking about part 1?

I should point out that the Granturismo is completely different to the 4200 so you are going to struggle using the tips in this thread.

Those four screws that have screwdriver head have to be drilled out (they are plastic) and new ones fitted. They do not have a thread just a grip of rings. (Not well explained). New ones are fitted by using a hammer to tap in the head.

I love "as damp as an otter's pocket". My previous favourite was, "as wet as a haddock's swimming costume"

Ahhh, my confusion when I first read, I thought 'GT' then second reply looked at the section and thought '4200'

Cheers, @Zep

Yes, part 1.

And yes, I've realised this in the 3200/4200 and GS forum, not in the GT. Oops!
