Passenger door handle issue

Hi. I have a new issue with the passenger door handle and was wondering if anyone had experienced similar or had a quick fix. I parked car yesterday and the passenger door electric release button in the door handle was working, came back in the evening, unlocked the car fine, but the door won't release and the button seems to do nothing. The manual button (behind the electric one) seems to do nothing either. The door opens fine from the inside handle.

Suspect the switch has gone and I will end up in the dealer, but thought i would ask just in case?

Thanks

If the mechanical one isn’t working, take the rubber cover off on the inside of the door shut and check the mech. The micro switch ones will often require a reset after a flat battery.

Just the passenger door, I did wonder if it needs a reset or some water had got into the switch. Will check the mechanism, but given the lack of resistance when pressing, I am worried i might've lost a pin or rod.

or sometimes the microswitch can come out of it's holder.
When I had the doorpanel off, I fixed the microswitch with a tie-wrap.

I had a similar same thing earlier this year (rear door drivers' side - electric switch did nothing, but mechanical lever still worked).
I was told that I would need a whole new door handle.
Sprayed lots of WD40 on it and it has been no trouble since.

I'll give wd40 a go.
I know you wouldn't be concerned about your paintwork :) , but does anyone else have any concerns with wd40?

Definitely - folk spray it on everything, for all purposes. I believe it may be a very versatile product but I'm a believer in the right products for given applications unless I know better...
Its fine on your morning bowl of cereal though, of course ! ;)

Same for me. Use the straw to get it into the mechanism.

Started working again today without wd40. Go figure. However the other side did this too and eventually gave up the ghost so I expect it to go at some point.

Hi all, slight tangent but related to door handles.

I noticed today that when using the handle on one of the rear passenger doors on my QP V (only to open the door; not when it's already open and you're clicking the switch) - I can feel a tremor/vibration in the door. It happens when using either the electric switch or mechanical lever.

Any ideas? Sorry if this has been discussed previously, couldn't find anything

An update on this:

The same electric door handle failed again in December, and this time WD40 made no difference. I have been trying to get myself used to the idea that it would need to be dismantled and maybe replaced.
Then, last week my battery died completely (see here) and now, magically, the door handle works again.
So my new formula is: WD40, walk round the car three times anti-clockwise, disconnect battery....

Also my parking sensor warning has disappeared! (Yay!). Although the bad news is that the sensors still don't work... (Boo!)

As I said in another thread, my drivers door handle has started working again. Only a matter of time though before it goes completely I expect

On the parking sensor front, Emblem replaced two of mine in the centre of the front bumper (relatively) cheaply by using non Maserati labeled sensors

Apparently rear bumper sensor replacement is a pig though
