Passenger airbag light permanently lit!

While slowly driving driving the car into my garage the front end bumped my wheelie bin! Now I've got an airbag light coming up ffs! No damage of course, got PPF on it.

I understand there is a crash sensor behind the bumper somewhere so I suspect this is the culprit! Would an OBD reader erase this or what action removes it?

If you’ve got a light Id imagine you’ve got a fault so will need to read the code.

It’s the Nos 1 go to fix for anything electrical a battery disconnect?
That’s certainly what I would be doing anyway.

Assuming it’s a GT then battery is in the boot and you can easily disconnect the negative terminal.
Leave it at least an hour (although I have been told overnight) the reconnect.
Leave it 30mins then turn ignition on and bobs your uncle - the Italian gremlins often disappear.

best done if car is in the garage - lower drivers side window down a little and don’t close the boot !

Battery reset will not change an airbag light.

interesting, mine used to throw a fault on the passenger side and the only time it went was after a battery reset - having said that it used to come back after a while as it was being caused by a faulted switch (now changed).

It's an MOT fail too. At least it will be once the test stations are back open.
And yes, I believe you need to plug into a proper diagnostic machine to clear it

From memory there are at least 4 bolts top and bottom. I dear to get the grill to move that far out of line one of the fixing may well have broken.

The fixing are under the rubber seal behind the grill.

Hopefully not and it’s a simple fix.
