I picked up a secondhand PAS cooler from eBay. To my delight, it was in pretty good nic, despite it needed the tangs reversed. I was pleased to find it was as easy as I had been led to believe to rotate the tang (it was from QP V evidently)..
A couple sessions of a an hour or so and it's in, and so far not leaking. It sure did whine abit bleeding it back up. And it needed alot of toing and froing to the stops (lock) to get it quiet. I was paranoid my refurbed alternator was dying after all the doom sayers told me to expect that to die imminently !:D

Anyway. Its done.

How much pointing skyward should I aim for when adjusting my handbrake..? MOT next.
Im dreading it ...!:oops::p

Mine just got through on 15% this time around and fully on is about 45 degrees after it was adjusted to it's limit, so thanks for the reminder, I need to get a new handbrake cable fitted within 10 months. I think I read somewhere on here that they are hard to come by now and that a fabricated one is the way to go.

Id imagine adjustment would be required as the shoes wear. So I can guess someone has been overly zealous with the handbrake, and stretched the cable..?
I never use it. I adjusted it 2K miles ago when I serviced the brakes. But it was ifted to the garage on a low loader a while back. This means 'others" have sat in it and tried to make it "secure" the car by way of the handbrake in my absence. From what I saw of the young lad's exuberant application of the lever, I can only imagine it has been given a good work out. A pet peave. And another good reason to not let the uninitiated to sit at the wheel..but it cant be avoided sometimes..!
I will be having words ( again) come MOT time. And to confirm they wont be wrecking my LSD...;)

Cool nice job. My ps rads is still OK despite my man handling of it during the water rads install. Probably will need done eventually though.

As I understand it the rear subframe needs to be lowered to change the handbrake cables.

Mine are rusted and stretching so I plan to get that done along with the rear anti roll bar and brake lines which all obscured by the subframe

Useful info for future planning...

Are the cables not easily sourced ?

Edit - Eurospares show a front cable and a rear cable...
