Parking sensors quick fix

I have had an intermitent fault on one of my parking sensor. I had already identified which one by putting the car in reverse with the ignition on but engine off and then listening at the sensors for a ticking noise. You can actually feel it with a light touch on each sensor.

In my case it was going to mean a bumper off job to access one of the middle sensors. Ive already got the sensor but thought i would try the suggestion in the attached video that somebody posted on another thread.

The upshot is that i tried this 2 weeks ago. Watch the video but spray each sensor with WD40 and then wipe the excess fluid away. I left it over night just to let it seep in and its been working fine ever since.

Its obviously not going to work in every case but its worth trying before you rush out and buy a new sensor. I will probably give them another spray before we hit the autumn and winter months.

If it faulters in the meantime i will report back but early signs are that its a cheap quick and easy fix.

Definitely worth a shot. Suspect it depends how long they havent been working for - it didnt work on either of mine unfortunately!
