Evening

So Im alive but had some personal challenges last few months so been off the forum and not out to much.

In the meantime car has been ok apart from today when out the blue reversing it and a little light came on to say no parking aid available and yep we are not playing or working, she had a new battery about 4 months ago and electrics wise has been brilliant.

Do they just go like this, totally out the blue ? I need to get her booked in for oil change at Marios so can get it diagnosed then to see which one has popped and how much but its a right royal pain to get out and make sure Im not about to tap into a fence in the car park ... look a plonker lol.

Does the battery need a charge if you haven't been using the car for a few weeks

They all do it, I left the dashcam on the yeti on while it was parked up for 3 days, battery is fairly new but it wouldn't start, charged it, started it and the dash lit up, luckily a 10 minute drive and a restart and it all went back to normal

Was it cold when it happened. The reverse parking sensors on an alfa i had used to play up if it was below minus 2 if it had been sat for a couple of days but would return to normal once the car had warmed up.

If the failure warning is staying on now then as far as i am aware you can disconnect them one by one and when the warning goes out then thats the faulty sensor.

Nice to hear from you again Stewart. Sorry to hear you've been having some problems.

One of my rear parking sensors just stopped working a while back. JCT replaced it under warranty. It's pretty common I think.

They can play up in the wet & cold in my experience and then come back to life when the sun's out

My right hand front sensor packed up a couple of weeks ago. It went straight to red as soon as I turned on the front sensors and needed replacing. My warranty covered it but it would have cost £307.18 at the dealer. Trying to manage for a couple of weeks with no front parking was pretty hairy. The annoying thing is that as soon as reverse was engaged, the front sensors also switched on and I got the constant alarm sound. Not useful when trying to parking something as large as the GT.

I can switch my fronts off with one of the buttons on the bank of switches on the r/h side by the headlamps

Yeah.....did that but when reversing mine switch back on. Even when I deactivate the stop/go option it activates them.
