Parking sensor intermittent failure

Has anyone got to the bottom of these failures?

2 years ago I had 2 replaced by Marios who told me that only the genuine replacement Maserati parts were suitable and not the cheapo alternatives.

6 weeks ago the dashboard warning light came on, possibly while we were getting periods of heavy rain.
2 weeks ago they started working again - whilst we have had very little rain.

Has anyone tried a spray of GT85 or similar?

I think so. They break. They're not exactly solid state devices and don't have an indefinite lifespan.

Well I'd hate to contradict but I know I used other alternatives with success.

I haven't used a jet wash only a garden hose spray. If you can recommend alternatives that would be great

Off hand I can't recall but there are plenty threads about them. I think Skoda or Volvo use the same....

Used a jet wash on mine with no issues at all.
Some people find WD40 helps, but that just masks a fault. Swap them out.

Nearly all cars are similar. They don't like dirt, water, or corroded connections, basically anything that effects the signal. I just use my mirrors lol.

No sensors on the front of my Strad - not mangled the front yet, but there is still time o_O

I've been told that it is important to install them correctly, so that the water does not get in subsequently. Others in this thread have written that water ingress is a common cause of failure.

Yes the wd40 / gt85 trick can work for awhile. Quick spray and wipe clean and you can probably go all summer without an issue as long as it clears the issue to start with.

You will probably find the fault will return when winter hits and sub zero freezes any moisture that seeps into the faulty sensor.

Wd40 or the like applied once a month in the winter may well extend that further. But eventually it will need changing.

Correct.

There is a silicone washer that must be installed otherwise water gets in and they fail.

When they are removed the silicone washer either remains in the bumper of falls out.

They are about a pound each from Euros or Scuds

Yesterday parking sensor warning came on again. It had rained overnight. Today a squirt of GT85 and they all work again!

Where does one squirt the magic spray? Over the front of the sensor? The join between sensor and bumper?

They normally clip in or put in and twist. Not sure on a Mas though. Getting to them is the issue not removing them.

When I had some paint done, I asked the question and after some scuttling about the chap said that the bumper needs to come off to get to them
