Parking Sensor Failure

Go to dealer! Yeah, right...

I remember reading here about setting them off by getting someone to walk around the car and feel the pulse on the sensor to identify which one has failed. I think it's a rear one, but both from and rear are emitting weird long tones erratically rather than bleeps.

Anyone remember the sensor part equivalent, I seem to remember it was Volvo? Could it be the ECU?

Hmm, cleaned the sensors this morning, no difference, went for a quick spin just now, called in at shop for a few Leffe's and they started working again.

Sulky mare!

Mine stop working when there is the slightest moisture in the air.

They were fine all summer, but have now hibernated - putting it down to moisture in the boot.

They stopped working after the first frosty night this year, but last year was frostier (Dublin, wind chill from sea) and not effected then.

Ah, well...

And they've stopped working again. Also not got much petrol in the tank, getting the 'Limited Cruising Range' huge petrol-pump icon with a quarter of a tank left.

Perhaps she just need a drink?

Weather often puts my sensors out of action but I found that pressing PARK OFF button, then turn off ignition and back on seems to reset them. I was beginning to miss the incessant beeping....

Mine's a 2006 QP DS, with an old fashioned handbrake! I think my buttons are, M/A (Manual/Auto), Sport/Normal, MSP On/Off and can't remember. I'd go and look but it's raining.....

You do know that Park Off button has nothing to do with the parking sensors? It stops the EPB coming on....
