Any ideas what could cause this? - It's appearing intermittently for a few seconds. Heater doesn't appear to be working despite it being up to temp. Pretty sure it's not loosing coolant though so I'm hoping it's not the heater matrix.

That row of digits, 888,indicates to me that the computer has halted at some intermediate point in it's startup self checking routine. Try a computer reset. If no luck you need an expert to really stuff it up !

I had a similar issue on a 4200 a while back and it was a failing heater blower motor/unit. However others have had slightly different symptoms with slight different fixes.

My HVAC LCD display wouldn't sometimes display all heater/AC controls or work when knobs then error. Replaced the blower motor and all was fine after that. Might not be the same issue but just some thoughts that may help.

Thanks but it's showing 'E' only.... The 888 bit isn't relevant.

Likely to be the outside temperature sensor which in in the wing mirror. Check the connections etc, otherwise it’s easy to replace.

yes i would suggest out side air temp too, very prone to fail. check connectors but not too hard to replace, quite fiddly but not hard.
