Fukn major prob, got a few German lagers in for the Rugby, Doppel-Hirsch, with the Grolsh-type swivel caps on, as soon as you open one gently it's hissing and fizzing spraying depending on pressure, even after 15 mins of gently letting the pressure out it over flows before you can get the glass near it.

So I tried in the bathroom sink, straight open, no slow release, drenched me, the mirror and half the wall.

This is ridiculous!

I've have to do the next one naked in the shower with the shower on at this rate, I already stink of ale....

Thing is you can't get Special Brew in Ireland, at least it wouldn't do that if I could get it....

Only fix I have now is to gently release the pressure which takes a good 15/20 mins, fridge not gonna work, want em now! Bought them from Supervalu here in Dubs, €4.00 a bottle!

I love it here, been here three separate times and always end up going back to UK cos of the cost of stuff!

Feel that coming again as I don't wanna pay €1809 per annum for Motor (Road) Tax, €1600 per annum insurance for the Maser.

Open it into a bucket. Then pour it into a glass. Seems your only option.
Well not so! I opened in the sink, before I could align the bottle I'd sprayed the mirror and wall in some sort of dirty campaign....

It's sprays out 360 degrees on release on the cork (see pic). Slow release is only option. I'm gonna complain to manufacturer, first time I tried these beers no issue, last time and this time it's like the Formula One podium....

Might get some free ones by voucher and more trouble!

Have you tried holding the bottle upside down, and then opening it.

As C said, get it as cold as possible. Open quickly and tilt before it starts to froth/spray.

I don't have a bucket, and if I did, the beer would taste of bucket.

I have perfected it - I slow release for 10 mins or so, minimal beer damage, secure cork, drink previous, return to bottle, slow release again and 5 mins or so safe to remove cork.

Can we make this a sticky?

Tells me you're a bit sticky, being covered in beer, and possibly a bit battered as well haha :)

I am, should take a shower but that will revitalise me and I need to sleep, sleep pattern wrecked with a trip abroad and a bout of flu...

Mrs away so I might stew in beer.

On the other hand, I feel a takeaway coming on, as one does after a bout of illness, kebab time!

You are in Dublin! Drink Guinness whilst you wait for de-pressurisation.
