The facelift cars do look much better IMO. It just needs spacers!

The fact its a little lower helps the stance, but I may well add some spacers in the near future.

I Like the interior, but much prefer the Grigio Neptune wheels vs the later black ones and prefer the pre-facelift front end with fog lamps and quad round pipes vs twin oval ones. Ian Callum once told me designers often get it right first time, then facelifts are done just to distinguish a later car from an earlier one where owners are keen to show they are driving the latest model and keep an older car in production longer.

Both look great cars but is it worth the hit on cost to change via a dealer for just a 2 year newer car? However, if you are happy, then I’m pleased for you!

Vive la difference as they say here!

As you say, it's personal preference. I think the original GT-S is the most 'beautiful' of them all, but the 2012 facelift is more aggressive looking, and for me, is the sweet spot. I also prefer the facelift headlights without the orange and with the DRLs. I don't like the 2018 front at all. The shape of the intakes just don't suit the lines of the car.

Was it worth the hit cost wise? I struggled to justify it. It is only 2 years newer, but does have just over half the mileage of my old one. But more importantly, if I had been lucky enough to be able to spec one of these new, this is pretty much exactly what I would have chose for myself! So, for that reason I went for it, as I don't fancy the chances of another one the same coming along.

Lovely looking interior, it wasn't Scalded Cat, the lady member, was it?

It could well have been. It was the meet where I met you. She was parked right at the end of the row against the wall, pretty much as far away from the cafe as you could get.

Yeah, please do mate! would be good for a little meet with you, and Stuart maybe?

Absolutely.. be good to catch up and have a little peak at the new car!! I see you've commented on the noise level needing improvement... heading down the X-pipe and sports cats route or just heading down the X-pipe route?

Any chance that you bought that in Godalming, Surrey?

I recall going to see a car at a very similar looking place.

Yes must have been me. Looks the same as mine except for the steering wheel and the carbon.
Congrats Sam, that's a mean looking car with the black wheels. Funnily enough mine was originally on astrals in graphite but had been changed to Neptunes at some point before I got it.

X-pipe going on tomorrow, if I can shake the man flu lol. Got it jacked up today and given the bolts a good soaking in penetrating fluid.
I'm hoping that'll be enough to satisfy me noise wise. But I fear it might not be. As I said, it's not the volume that's the problem, it's the lack of rev blip on down shift that's bugging me.

So it's your fault! I'll have to introduce the wife, so she can take it out on you!
Seriously, when I saw your interior colour combo, I knew that if a facelift came up with that interior, MC box and MC handling pack I'd have to get it.

Jeez my neighbours would have heart attacks if I fitted mine with an X-pipe. Just doing circuits on the close in sports mode gets them excited. Still, it would stir up the housing market... Maybe I could get sponsorship from an estate agent... ;)

I am tempted to fit a X-pipe. Which make do people go for and is it just louder or different tone? Its hard to gauge from the online videos.

I got mine from Marios at Autoshield, £280. Same classic GT sound, with valves open I’d say it goes from the standard 10 to 11/12 in loudness and more crackle & pop on the over run. It’s lovely.
Valves closed and it’s pretty much back to the original closed valve sound and loudness.
I was originally not going to mess with the sound on my GT-S but now I’m glad I did.
I also added a remote control valve opener to be able to open the valves and stay on soft suspension.

I didn’t see much point in paying £120 more for a Larini. They are exactly the same as the one from Marios which takes 1 week to make and cost £280.

I bought the original and it was full of swarf and the swages were terribly sized making it a pig to fit. I'd try an alternative if I had to buy another.
