One car you wished you had never sold

Silver Porsche 993 manual... fantastic sounding car. Sold it at the rock bottom of its depreciation curve... £13k :-(
That car is probably worth £50-60k now !!
Sob sob

The worst part is that I would love to own one again, but I can’t resolve myself to spend 5x what I sold mine for to get the same car... it would spoil the joy of ownership.

well this makes sense? I've never been a great 4x4er as there is so little justification (for me), so this was my one and only. I still miss it. 1986 Toyota SR5. 100% Japanese. I put a lift kit on it, very cool wheels, 31"BFG's, lsd, and even a minidisk player! I can't find a picture!

911 Carrera Cabri60958o 1985. Had it 14 years and did lots of work including an engine rebuild. Hardly ever using it and needed the garage space, so sold it off in 2011 just as prices hit rock bottom. Could have just done nothing with it and sold it at the price peak in 2016 for 3 x the price I sold it for

Despite a long list of lovely cars, if pushed to pick one, it would be a 1995 Porsche 993 Manual Coupé in Polar Silver. Factory lowered chassis, kevlar backed sports seats and motor sound package. (Traded in for a Mk1 GT3 CS).

Financially; the '88 911 turbo (2 owners, 58k miles) I sold for 16k 10 years ago
Emotionally; the '96 993 I bought in 2001 and sold with 200k miles on the clock 3 years ago for 32k! Many great road trips, one clutch and two suspension rebuilds. Bulletproof unlike the modern stuff.6096160962

Just an observation... a lot of people missing their old Porsches.
Wonder what the modern equivalent is in terms of current cars we'll miss in years to come, or whether we passed 'peak great car' in the 90's?
At the moment I'm really enjoying my V6 Lotus Exige.

There was something nice and analogue about cars of that era without the need to get oily keeping them going. The GTS has not gone too far for me unlike many,,,
Would love an Exige if only entry and egress were possible!

There's a knack to it, and each person finds their own style. I think as long as you're not much over 6' tall and not too portly, then it's not that bad; adds to the sense of occasion. It's truly mini supercar, it really is sublime in my opinion. Retains the analogue simplicity of an earlier era, but a lot faster.

I'll add another Alfa... GTV Cup #93... was properly sorted when I sold it... dont see them much now so like many it would prob be worth double now what I let it go for... maybe more. Not as quick as a 4200 obviously but I think it handled better... when properly setup quite go kart like. And whilst the styling wasnt subtle it did feel quite special.

I really struggle to think of a modern 'classic' - maybe a 981 Cayman...or a nismo 370? Aside from that, raw'ish, engaging, fairly rare and good looking cars I cant think of many from 2013 onwards.

Really....For me a 2013 plus Aston Martin Vantage is still one of the best looking shapes out there. Love a Cayman but it’s no Vantage to look at.

I'm a fan of both, and have had both. Still have a 987 Cayman S; sublime handling.

Edit...as an aside, and contrary to a lot of internet rumour, the V8V was very cheap to run. 4 years and lots of miles, just regular servicing and a squeaky belt replaced. I think that's impressive. The car handed very well, and responded well to high revs.
