My second car. Usual battles with rust and water leaks but loved the raspy exhaust and first taste of top down motoring. Stood by one the other week and cannot believe how small it was! How it managed as a teenage passion wagon is incredible to me now!

We were all a bit more flexible in our youth...

Dave, what a lovely car and excellent photo! Where were you at the time?

I think it was on the top of the Gotthard's Pass on the way to Milan for the Alfa Centenary celebrations in 2010!

Twin tanks, wow!

Dave

Not a genuine Cooper S, it was actually a standard Mini 850 with the "magic wand" gear stick and if memory serves me right 1963/4 model, rather rusty, so restored it with various new panels, de seamed the rear gutter, vinyl roof, added further working fuel tank, resprayed and completely waxoiled, it was a beauty and totally rust free once I finished it, often wonder if it's still alive

Stunning drawing. Bravo.

I spent my early career unclogging Rotring pens and wrestling t-squares and set squares so I know how good this draughtsmanship is.
Did you also have a pint glass full of piping hot water to clean all your nibs in??!!...........Thanks for the compliment TT!!

I do remember warm water helped. Oh the hours I spent at the sink shaking those nibs. I remember we used to make crude jokes in the studio about them 'all coming eventually'.

Wasn't just us then with those jokes!..............I remember the .18 nib was a nightmare to clean! If you bent the wire it was never going back in! Also remember wiping the excess ink off on your finger before using it to stop blobbing ink on the drawing.
