Lol
Circa March 1980, me at the front of the line sitting on the tank of my Kawasaki S1 250 with white helmet on and displaying loony plates still, I had to wait till 13/5/80 to get rid of them and when I did I got my first Triumph T160, capable of 125mph but still had to drink coca-cola down our local because the landlord knew I was still 17. Don't do much for your image "Do you want ice in that coke Nib?" Luckily he didn't have to serve me when I was rolling a joint in the car park.
In 1982 I fancied a Stag" Don't buy a Stag Nib, they all overheat" and this one did, my mates showed me no mercy although I did have another 3 after this one so couldn't have been all bad.
Early 90s I decided I fancy another T160, what I didn't take into account was I had grown a bit taller since those crazy teenage years so after restoring this one which had been repatriated from Chicago it was time to move it on.

Some good old photos there, I still have an old Triumph T150v from 1975 in my collection. I'll have a look through my old photo box and see what I can come up with.

Great thread idea.

Bit of a cheat as not exactly owned (I'm about 3 in this photo) but it's a bit unusual so I thought maybe it qualifies. I'm not even sure exactly what the model is, we just always referred to it as the Grandpa Alfa. It was owned by a chap who lived near my grandparents. It had a history of fuel starvation. Somehow my dad got involved, sorted it out and in return was granted the use of it.

I'll have to scan some of the old ones but here is one I bought in Germany, ran it for a year and sold for a profit! Sadly not the norm.

I loved my XR3i Cabriolet. The car to have as a 21 year old!

Note it's not white and not a body kit in sight! Pretty rare for Essex at the time!

Great grandparents and their Trogen, first car in the town.

And Mother in NZ with her Mini 'The Bomb' which she took to Africa and NZ when a Nurse.

All before my time btw.

The Essex is strong in me.

Escort RS Turbo at 18 and a 2wd Sierra Cosworth at 20 (in the background). After I wrote that off, as you do, I went for something a little more sedate, an Escort RS2000 4x4.

I'm pretty sure a mate of mine owns that RS Turbo. I think he's got it off the road whilst he's in Qatar.

Really! That'd be interesting to hear. I know who I sold it to back in 2001 and he blew the gearbox. Thought that was the end of it. I'd be surprised if its still around and not a lump of rust..
